Ever since, IPK closed down, we hear viewers talk about how things in their daily life keep reminding them about IPK. That is the impact of IPK. From movies to songs, from bluetooth to ordinary stationary items, from dupattas to sarees, just about anything brings back memories of the show. But, what are the chances that a famous Japanese cartoon show which is shown in India, dubbed in Hindi can remind you of IPK on a daily basis.
Unimaginable right. But, that is true. Here are some examples.
- Often, we hear Nobita say, 'Ye kitna sundar hai' or 'Ye kitna achcha hai', exactly the same way Khushi says in the show so many times.
- 'Tum theek ho' used so regularly in IPK, is also used quite regularly in Doraemon too.
- In one episode, Nobita is using a gadget of Doraemon and says 'Jo tum dekhte ho, wo main dekhta hoon.' Just similar to the famous Holi dialogue of Arnav, 'Jo tum mehsoos karti ho, jo main mehsoos karta hoon.'
- In the same episode mentioned above, Shizuka tells Nobita, 'Tum kitne ajeeb ho'. A dialogue told about a million times to each other by Arnav and Khushi.
- A recently shown Doraemon movie had Sapnon ki Duniya as its basic theme. Sapnon ki duniya (SKD) was one of the elements of IPK, made popular by the dialogue, 'Sapnon ki duniya mein hi rehna theek hai Lavanyaji, asli duniya mein to dil tut te hain.'
All these may just be coincidences, because all these dialogues are regular everyday ones. But still, with so many resemblances, one often wonders if there is a link between the two shows. Either, someone from IPK is also in the dubbing team of the cartoon show, or, someone in the dubbing department of Doraemon is a huge fan of IPK. Either way, Doraemon continues to excel in its job, of constantly taking me back to IPKland.
